What is the business model?
The business makes money by charging a fee for tax preparation of both personal and corporate returns. The franchisees also charge for payroll and bookkeeping services if they desire to do so. Franchisees pay a royalty to the parent company for the services they are provided.
Who is an ideal franchisee candidate?
The ideal ATAX franchisee is an outgoing person willing to become a part of their community. They need to know how to manage people and enjoy the interaction with the customers. We are a customer focused company, and we believe in giving back. The franchisee does not need to know how to prepare taxes but must have a solid understanding of the business and how to make it grow.
What is the franchise approval process (how to become a franchisee)?
The process includes a telephone interview, filling out an application and a Request for Consideration. They must then attend a Discover Day (virtually at this time). Once they have done that, we ask the potential franchisee to do validations with current franchisees to make sure they understand our systems and culture. Once that is completed the sign their franchise agreement and attend training (5days). At the time they pass training they are awarded their franchise.
